Friends in the rain ...

Scott and I were on our way back from a meeting at the office today when we caught site of a heavy rain headed straight for us. I looked behind us to also notice that we were being followed by three young, giggly girls I met yesterday in House 7. We debated making a run for it down the hill, but Scott convinced me that we should take shelter at the school until the shower had passed. There we sat with our three new friends. The obvious solution to combat any boredom was to play handclap games. Sali, Marie, Roselyn and I tried to teach Uncle Scott how to play. He got it eventually, but not before making the three girls erupt with laughter each time he purposely sang the song incorrect or slapped the wrong girl’s hand. We all giggled and laughed at one another as the rain poured down around us and I realized that that half-hour of rain was the highlight of my day. Scott and I are continuously reminded that the little moments here with these precious children who have been through so much, are some of the most important and beautiful.

You two are inspiring. Keep doing the good work you are doing. We all can make the world a better place...one step - or handclap game - at a time.

Big Shot Scott!

It's great to hear news of your trip. Just today I was with Ken and Tom King @ Regal, and we posed the question, "What is Big Shot Scott up to in Africa?" Well, now I know and it sounds like you are doing great work over there. Safe travels.

Laura and Scott,
I had the opportunity to intern with cotn last year in Banta Mokelleh as we prepared for the kids to move in! I am loving reading your updates and hearing how everything is going now. Last year we all had individual projects that we lead and mine was tearing down and rebuilding the malnutrition clinic. I got to build it with the Morlai and Camo and a few others but because of the election we got to delayed in finishing it. I asked Quami to send a picture but it didn't work out. If you have time and the means and could take a picture of it for me I would greatly appreciate it. Tell everyone mabinty said boa! :)Praying for y'all and everyone there!!
